16+ years of experience!
Joe Funderburk is the owner of Alpha &
Omega Home Inspections, LLC. There are no employees or sub-contractors--you
hire me and you get me. I'm a
Nationally Certified Master Inspector,
Licensed Building Official, International Code Council (ICC) certified
residential inspector and Building Official, NC Licensed Home Inspector, SC Licensed Home Inspector,
Certified Thermographer, Certified Mold Inspector, Certified Indoor Air Consultant, member of the
National Association of Certified Home Inspectors, member of the Piedmont
Association of Home Inspectors. I've totaled
thousands of home and commercial building inspections and completed countless hours of training since the
business began in 2005, including NC required annual training. I wired and
plumbed my own 2800 SF house. I
inspected hundreds of homes and commercial buildings as a code inspector for the
Town of Clover for
three years (the builders were excited to see me resign that position in 2013).
During the economic collapse of 2010 (when two jobs were necessary), I was also the
Building Official / Building Code Enforcement Officer for
a SC municipality for three years. Previous
careers include four years as an
Occupational Safety & Health Administration (OSHA)
Compliance Officer inspecting the
construction industry in SC. OSHA ingrained in me a detective-like mindset, along with
thoroughness, documentation and report writing skills that are the main assets I bring to the home inspection industry. While with OSHA, I inspected a major hydro-electric project being built by Duke
Power Company, and they hired me. I spent the following eleven years
in the electric utility industry with Duke Energy in managerial and scientific
positions, including Safety Supervisor at nuclear, fossil, and hydro plants,
where I was responsible for safety inspections at large-scale construction and
maintenance projects in NC & SC.
formal educational background includes two university

"Extra time to explain how
your home works!"
Choosing the right home inspector can be
difficult. Unlike most professionals, you probably will not get to meet me until
after you hire me. Furthermore, different inspectors have varying
qualifications, equipment, experience, reporting methods, and yes, different
pricing. One thing for sure is that a home inspection requires work, a lot of
work. Ultimately a thorough inspection depends heavily on the individual
inspector's own effort. If you honor me by permitting me to inspect your new
home, I guarantee that I will give you my very best effort. This I promise you.

comprehensive, and quality inspections.
I spend lots of time on each home. I never do more than 2 inspections a day.
Often times, I spend 4 hours or more on an average home.
Many inspectors work on volume and do 4 homes a day at a low price per home,
which means they may spend no more than 1.5 hours on your home!
